醫生: 用生理鹽水洗鼻改善鼻敏感
鼻敏感發作時，會狂打噴嚏，鼻水流不停，雖然並非致命疾病，但症狀嚴重者若不接受適當治療，有機會鼻塞至難以透氣，需做手術才能改善狀症。耳鼻喉科醫生指出，本港最常見的致敏源為塵蟎，濕度逾60%更是塵蟎較活躍的季節，提醒輕微的鼻敏感患者，大部分可透過用生理鹽水洗鼻，舒緩不適，嚴重者亦有類固醇噴劑選擇，但副用作較口服類固醇低。
耳鼻喉科專科醫生顧德政表示，過敏性鼻炎即鼻敏感，患者一般會有特定致敏源，這些致敏源本身對健康無害，但患者身體會對其過敏，產生不適反應，本港最常見的致敏源是塵蟎，其次是貓狗的毛髮。有新手家長為免初生嬰兒對貓狗毛髮過敏，會特地送走家中寵物，他指，若嬰兒本身沒有出現對貓狗毛髮過敏症狀，其實應接觸不同事物及大自然，反而有助減少過敏出現的機率，除非已有過敏反應，才需避免接觸致敏源。

鼻塞、流鼻水、打噴嚏等均屬於鼻炎病症。顧稱，若鼻水偏黃及綠，多為感染性鼻炎，亦可能伴隨發燒、喉嚨痛、周身骨痛的症狀。慢性鼻炎也會出現鼻塞及流鼻水，但鼻水多為透明色，患者嗅覺會減弱，耳部有機會感到阻塞等，慢性鼻炎並非感染性病，成因或與與食物、女性生理周期等有關，有時也可能成因不明。

鼻敏感則有特定致敏源，當患者吸入致敏源後，便有即時反應。顧指，患者可接受脫敏治療，但成功比例不高，故若用藥反應理想，一般不會進行脫敏。患者除要避開致敏感外，其實用生理鹽水洗鼻可改善大部份輕微鼻敏感症狀，現時有鹽水噴劑或洗鼻壺選擇，將鹽水灌洗入鼻內，洗走鼻內的致敏源及積聚黏液，恢復鼻子自我清洗的能力，減低鼻炎發作的機率。

一般用於洗鼻的生理鹽水濃度為0.9%，顧稱，若要自己調製生理鹽水，可用1公升清水加兩茶匙鹽，但提醒普通食鹽會加入礦物質，雖然對鼻子沒有傷害，但會感到較「揦」，又提醒調配不當，鹽水過濃會「揦」鼻，太淡效果則不佳。

藥物方面，醫生一般會處方抗組織安，可收鼻水及止痕癢，通鼻塞則有血管收縮素藥物，也有非處方通鼻噴劑，通鼻效果迅速，甚受病人歡迎。但顧指，這類通鼻噴劑不能連續使用，若多於其建議使用量，效力會越來越短，停用時鼻塞情況或更嚴重。嚴重患者則可使用口服類固醇或類固醇噴劑，現時新一代噴劑，入血比例不多於1%，副作用甚少，但治療效果可能需數日至數周才顯現。

若不處理鼻敏感症狀，除會引致患者不適外，長期鼻塞其實對工作及學習均有影響，顧稱，外國曾有研究發現，長期鼻塞患者會有精神不佳、學習及工作能力較低、考試成績受影響等情況，建議當鼻敏感發作時，應接受適當治療，若完全沒有發作則毋須用藥，適量運動有助增強抵抗力，也能改善鼻敏感。

顧指，曾有病人自小對塵蟎敏感，但一直不肯用藥，直到18歲時，鼻敏感引致的鼻塞，已嚴重至無法入睡，鼻膜發脹並難以透氣，用藥後雖有輕微改善，但最終要進行手術將鼻膜縮細才解決問題。
